Protecting the Most Vulnerable from Predatory Lenders
Since 2015, Scott has represented several borrowers of predatory lenders and has achieved positive results for most of them. Helping people escape from a destructive cycle of debt has been one of the most rewarding things Scott has experience in private practice.
Protecting the Rights of LGBTQ
While at the Attorney General's Office, Scott was involved in several high-profile cases. He is proudest of the role he played as one of the attorneys who argued to the New Mexico Supreme Court in support of the right of New Mexico citizens to marry the partner of their choice regardless of sexual preference.
He argued over 40 cases in the New Mexico Supreme Court touching on a variety of topics including the role a District Attorney's office may play in grand jury selection, the conduct of prosecutors presenting evidence to a grand jury, and the sentencing of repeat sex offenders.
Protecting the Public
Scott also prosecuted hundreds of professional license cases on behalf of several New Mexico professional licensing boards including the Medical Board, the Public Accountancy Board, and the Dental Board."
